Expensive Shelters

Tranzwatching in Auckland, New Zealand

Auckland Transport has announced two projects to better shelter transit patrons, both intended for completion before the World Rugby Cup in September. The iconic bus shelters on Karangahape Road - K Road - built 40 years ago, where the road straddles the motorway passing below,  offering panoramic views of the city and harbour below are to be rebuilt at a cost of $2.1 million; the platform shelters at Kingsland Station, near Eden Park, are to be extended, also at a cost of $2.1 million.
